Fahrenheit 9/11 Discussion Community
I spent most of the past week building out a discussion forum community for Michael Moore's new movie, Fahrenheit 9/11, which hits theatres on June 25.
Why did I build this? For a variety of reasons:
- Other than the popular Rotten Tomatoes and IMdb forums, I found very few discussion forums dedicated to a single cause, like Moore's new movie
- I realized that this movie is going to be HUGE and I wanted there to be a place online for fans (and critics) to talk about this movie on equal terms.
- Moore's Internet people never emailed me back - even after several attempts - so I can only assume they have no plans for building an online community into fahrenheit911.com
- I wanted to see how easy it would be to add/modify a Forums module to the Content Management Framework I'm learning
- I wanted a showpiece community site for my new company, BlogLabs, Inc.
Feel free to use the site, but assume that over the next day or two that small things on the site will change as I iron out any more bugs I find. For instance, I haven't tested the site completely in IE/Windows. Any bugs can be reported in the comments for this entry or sent to me through my contact form.
Posted by Cameron Barrett at June 15, 2004 02:52 AMI was thinking it'd be fantastic if Metafilter FH911 traffic could be sent here instead of clogging up MeFi - maybe add "If you're posting about Fahrenheit 911 - please go here instead." on MeFi's new post page - everybody's gonna complain about it anyway - to have a dedicated discussion site is going to be great (and hopefully great exposure for your company as well).
(So glad you're blogging again - you were one of the bloggers that first inspired me to get started. I always use Watchblog in my classes on showing entrepeneurs all the stuff they can do with a weblog)

Great site. My only issue, after posting there, is that there is no preview of what you are about to post (as you have here), nor any way to edit it once you have. One or the other - though ideally both - would be great.

Now Cam if you could just make a clickable image map that would let folks click on Michael Moore and go to http://www.michaelmoore.com and click on Bush and go to http://bush2004.com and click on the White House and go to http://whitehouse.org

Well i have to say i have no intrest watsoever in watching this film. IDEA: Watch shrek 2, youll probably enjoy yourself more than getting bogged down in MORE politics :-/
