camworld2: what were those Dell Guy commercials called?
camworld2: "Steve the Dell Guy"?
iamthebestartist: never seen them
camworld2: hmmm, guess it wasn't you who sent me these links
camworld2: i'll bet it was tara
iamthebestartist: maybe us librarians are all the same
camworld2: heh
camworld2: i only have room in my brain enough to store data about one
librarian
camworld2: i should rent space in my brain, make it a ebay auction
iamthebestartist: you can keep tara's info stored, I'm always available online
camworld2: true enough
camworld2: or i could assign everything to the Dewey Decimal System
camworld2: but that would require a reformat
iamthebestartist: I would never understand it then
camworld2: not sure if I can handle that in this stage of my life
camworld2: i have a photographic memory for some things
camworld2: like phone numbers and birthdays
iamthebestartist: neat
iamthebestartist: mine is september 5th
camworld2: noted
camworld2: someone should program an IM bot that IM's people on their
birthdays and anniversaries
camworld2: and allow it to be programemd for all kinds of alerts
iamthebestartist: yeah there's no reason why that doesn't happen
iamthebestartist: I know the MSN guy who does messenger, maybe I'll suggest
that
camworld2: it'd be easy
camworld2: for a time we were working on an Alert bot that IM'd you
stock quotes
camworld2: you'd IM InlumenAlert with AAPL and it would respond with a
quote
camworld2: but there are issues of selling services over a proprietary
network like AOL IM
iamthebestartist: hmm, yeah I can see that -- what about Jabber instead,
opensource?
camworld2: you could do it with jabber very easily
camworld2: but AOL could still block stuff to their clients, if it went
through AIM servers at all
camworld2: if you used a Jabber server you could get around a lot of the
restrictions
